4 gymnasts from "Jersey Special Gymnastics Club' travelled to Glasgow on Friday for a disability training camp and then they went to compete at the "Scottish Masters Disability Championships" in Perth on Sunday.
The training camp was held at the "City of Glasgow Gymnastics Club" where the gymnasts had 8 hours training over Friday and Saturday. These training sessions are very worthwhile for our gymnasts as they get the chance to use a purpose built facility with training pits, full sprung floor and the chance to work with different coaches, they also get to meet up with other gymnasts that have disabilities.
Early Sunday morning we travelled up to Bell's Sports Centre in Perth to compete in the Scottish Masters Disability Championships. The mainstream Senior and Junior Scottish Individual Apparatus Finals were also being held at the venue so there was some fantastic gymnastics to be seen with the best Scottish Gymnasts competing like Daniel Purvis and Frank Baines and Cara Kennedy
Our 4 gymnasts Cailiegh Quail, Alex Buesnel, James Lang and Aaron Bonnar had a great competition with some fantastic performances. They all looked great in our new club tracksuits that were generously donated via "Community Wishes" initiative run in 2015 by Roberts Garages Ltd.
Cailiegh Quail had a very good competition winning a silver on Uneven Bars with a very clean routine, then she won 2 bronze medals on Vault and Beam.
Alex Buesnel performed a great Floor routine gaining a score of 12.050 to take gold. He also won gold on Rings, Vault and Parallel Bars, and he gained a Silver on High Bar.
James Lang also had clean routines and he gained Silver on Vault and Pommel, and 3 bronze medals on High Bar, Parallel Bars and Rings.
Aaron Bonner managed to incorporate new skills into his routines and won 2 bronze medals on Vault and Pommel, and he gained three 4th places.
